Research Internship in Autonomous Vehicle

A Research Internship is available at the EPAN Research Group at UTBM in France. The internship is fully funded for 6 months. The successful candidate will participate to "MobiliTech" project for autonomous vehicle development. The internship will focus on the promising research topic of moving-object-aware (including pedestrians, cyclists, cars, etc.) autonomous vehicle navigation in urban environments. She or he will study the calibration and perception pipeline of our multisensor-based (including LiDARs, cameras, GPS, etc) autonomous car, propose and validate methods with a special case of overtaking other cars on the road. We are looking to recruit a Master student with relevant experience and/or a strong interest in research areas including (but not limited to):
- Sensor calibration
- Robot perception
- Systems integration, including ROS
You should follow Master degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or other related fields. You must have good mathematical and coding skills (C++/Python, ROS), and be available to start work on March 1, 2018. The internship offers the opportunity to engage in international collaboration within an ambitious team, to work with state-of-the-art robotic hardware and software, and to benefit from excellent support to produce and disseminate original research contributions in the leading international conferences and journals. You must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, including excellent written and spoken communication skills.
